Srilata Bagchi, PhD, is Professor of Oral Biology at the UIC College of Dentistry. A focus of research in her lab is on better understanding the development of human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated cancers at the molecular level. These studies are expected to identify novel targets for therapeutic intervention and might provide new modalities for preventing or treating HPV-related cancers. Another research focus of the lab is studying the role of DNA damage and repair processes in the development of cancer.
