Saria Lofton, PhD, RN, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health Nursing Science in the UIC College of Nursing. A health disparities nurse researcher, she is interested in the impact of the food environment on cardiometabolic and cancer risk, particularly in Black women. She is also deeply committed to improving health equity using a community-based participatory research approach that builds on community assets and resources.
