Dr. Peter Lokken is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. His research has always motivated him as a way to combine his passions for public service and for deepening his understanding of the pathology he treats in clinical practice.
Dr. Lokken’s principal interest is in expanding applications of Interventional Oncology (IO) and improving outcomes by developing new therapies through interdisciplinary collaboration. His initial work focused on epidemiological assessment of toxicity related to transarterial chemoembolization.
He has transitioned this focus to investigation of the histological, genetic, and immunological factors underlying the efficacy of loco-regional therapy (LRT) by collaborating with a multidisciplinary research team of Interventional Oncologists, Geneticists, and Immunologists at the University of Illinois.
