Pavel Petukhov, PhD, is Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Retzky College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). Research in his laboratory is focused on discovery, computational design, synthesis, and preclinical studies of novel small-molecule compounds as therapeutics for a variety of diseases and conditions. He also works on the development of novel chemical tools and approaches to gain a deeper understanding of biology. His projects have included a focus on the discovery of novel small molecule therapeutics for the treatment of schistosomiasis, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and chronic hepatitis B virus infections.
