Noor Naffakh, PharmD, MS, BCOP, is Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Retzkey College of Pharmacy; Co-Leader of the Precision Oncology Tumor Board (POTB), which is supported by the University of Illinois Cancer Center, UIC and UI Health, UIC’s academic health enterprise; and a Clinical Pharmacist in Hematology/Oncology at UI Health. Her work bridges clinical care, education and research to advance precision oncology. Her clinical practice focuses on integrating next-generation sequencing (NGS) data into actionable treatment strategies for patients with advanced cancers who have exhausted standard treatment options. This includes developing targeted therapeutic plans based on genomic alterations reviewed by the POTB. Her research is centered on evaluating the clinical and economic outcomes of precision oncology interventions. As a 2024-2025 FDA-AACR (American Association for Cancer Research) Oncology Educational Fellow, she is dedicated to advancing biomarker-driven therapies and fostering the integration of cutting-edge research into clinical practice. She has contributed to the field through publications and presentations exploring innovative applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical decision support, particularly in non-small cell lung cancer. By integrating AI and pharmacogenomics into oncology practice, her work seeks to improve the precision, efficiency, and accessibility of cancer care. She aim to contribute to a future where precision oncology is more accessible, equitable and effective for diverse cancer populations.
