Michael Heiferman, MD, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at UIC, and he treats patients at UI Health. His research interests include studying ocular tumors to identify novel therapeutic targets and improve prognostication. He is also interested in using advanced imaging techniques and artificial intelligence to study retinal diseases and ocular tumors. At UI Health, he cares for patients with vitreoretinal disorders and conditions related to tumors of the eye, including ocular melanoma, hemangiomas and cancers that have spread to the eye from other parts of the body.
