Kristen Malecki, PhD, MPH, is co-leader of the Cancer Center's Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program and Professor and Division Director of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences in the UIC School of Public Health. Her translational environmental health research focuses on the examination of the combined impacts of chemical (air pollution, water pollution), physical and social stressors, and their influence on adult chronic diseases, aging and health disparities. Her research uses emerging multi-omic tools, including epigenetics, transcriptomics, and the microbiome, to identify interim biomarkers of exposure and response for cancer prevention and control.
