Kent Hoskins, MD, is the Oncology Service Line Medical Director at UI Health. He is the executive leader responsible for creating and implementing business plans at the University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics and the University of Illinois Cancer Center to grow oncology services across the UI Health enterprise. Additionally, he specializes in hereditary breast and ovarian cancers as a UI Health medical oncologist, and his research is focused on breast cancer, genetics, risk assessment and disparities. He is the Eileen Lindsay Heidrick Professor in Oncology and Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at UIC. He focuses on the assessment of breast cancer risk. Utilizing both population studies, behavioral and molecular approaches, he has developed strategies to reduce breast cancer mortality by better identifying high-risk individuals. He is also actively involved in developing clinical trials in breast cancer and in developing novel approaches for analyzing biospecimens collected from clinical trial participants to identify mechanisms of drug resistance. He is board-certified in Medical Oncology.
