Jon Andrew Dykens, MD, MPH, is a tenured Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago and a family medicine physician at UI Health. He is also Director of Global Health Systems Strengthening at the UIC Center for Global Health and a Fellow at the UIC Institute for Health Research and Policy. He joined UIC in 2004. His goal is to train young investigators in implementation research. A National Institutes of Health-funded researcher, he has studied the implementation of sustainable cervical cancer prevention programs through capacity building, quality improvement, and behavioral interventions at the national, regional, and local levels in Senegal. He is committed to a career studying the access determinants, capacity implementation, and sustainability of cancer prevention services, especially in low resource settings. His research is focused on sustainability of cancer prevention services in low-resource settings.
