Jon Andrew Dykens, MD, MPH, is Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine in the University of Illinois College of Medicine at UIC and a family medicine physician at UI Health. His research is focused on the sustainability of cancer prevention services in low-resource settings. He is also Director of Global Health Systems Strengthening at the UIC Center for Global Health and a Fellow at the UIC Institute for Health Research and Policy. He joined UIC in 2004. His goal is to train young investigators in implementation research. A National Institutes of Health-funded researcher, he has studied the implementation of sustainable cervical cancer prevention programs through capacity building, quality improvement, and behavioral interventions at the national, regional, and local levels in Senegal. He is committed to a career studying the access determinants, capacity implementation, and sustainability of cancer prevention services, especially in low-resource settings.
