Jan Spille, PhD, MS, is Assistant Professor in the Departments of Physics and Chemistry in the UIC College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Spille Lab works at the interface of biology, chemistry and physics. They use cutting-edge single-molecule imaging techniques in live and fixed cells to uncover fundamental mechanisms of biomolecular self-organization in transcription regulation. His lab is especially interested in the role of 3D chromatin topology in the formation of transcription condensates that concentrate transcription factors at regulatory regions of cell identity genes.
