Gnanasekar Munirathinam, PhD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, a regional campus of the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). His research is focused on chemoprevention of prostate cancer and gene therapy for prostate cancer. He has a broad background in cancer biology and expertise in key research areas. He has long-standing interest in understanding the molecular mechanisms of how prostate cancer cells acquire aggressive behavior. His laboratory investigates the therapeutic potential of several plant products and their derivatives.
