Dr. Damiano Rondelli

My overall research interest has been in hematopoietic stem cell transplant both from a translational and a clinical prospective since my training at the University of Bologna and then as faculty at the same institution until 2002 and at the University of Illinois at Chicago for the last 14 years. This has allowed me, over the years, to become familiar with: transplant immunology studies, design of clinical trials, analysis of quality of life and implementation of BMT in low income countries. This work has translated in the growth of a research-driven Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program in the UIC Division of Hematology-Oncology/Department of Medicine and UI Cancer Center.
