Constance Jeffery, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at UIC. Her lab, the C Jeffery Lab, studies the connections between protein sequences, structures and functions, using a combination of biochemical and biophysical methods, computer-based bioinformatics and X-ray crystal structural analysis. She also serves on the Biophysical Society Committee for Professional Opportunities for Women (CPOW) and the UIC Department of Biological Sciences Diversity Committee. Her lab partners with the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council in the Cancer Center's innovative Hope Leaders program, which pairs community partners and cancer biologists to build genuine bidirectional relationships between scientists and communities.
