Bryan Lampkin, PhD, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Retzky College of Pharmacy at UIC. Trained as an organic chemist, he is fascinated at the role synthetic chemistry can play in biochemical research. His interdisciplinary lab pulls techniques from chemical biology, protein engineering, organic synthesis, physical organic chemistry, computational chemistry, and bioinformatics to discover and develop chemical tools and probes that are used to deconvolute biochemical networks implicated in disease. He was among the 2025 awardees of $50,000 for one year from the Cancer Center, through its American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant (ACS IRG), which provides seed money for junior investigators to initiate cancer research projects. His pilot project is "Spliceosome Assembly Inhibition as a Novel Anti-Cancer Therapeutic Strategy."
