Benjamin Sanchez Terrones, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at UIC and in the Richard and Loan Hill Department of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Medicine. He has an NCI R21 and P01 for skin and head and neck cancer. As part of the R21, he is testing a point-of-care device that his lab has developed to diagnose basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), seborrheic keratosis (SK), etc, at the bedside. As part of the P01 with MD Anderson Cancer Center, he is testing a non-invasive tongue blade with sensors to measure electrical impedance myography and electromyography (EMG).
