His cancer research interests include the development of clinical trials to help patients receive new therapies that may not be available at other centers, and he has helped develop and implement several clinical trials aimed at improving the treatment of cancer through new and innovative methods. He is also interested in research on how patients do after surgery and addressing variations in perioperative surgical care and quality improvement. He believes that the ideal approach to cancer is a multidisciplinary one that allows for an individualized and precision treatment plan for each patient, providing the best and most advanced care possible. He is a firm believer in the minimally invasive removal of cancer through the use of laparoscopy and robotic surgery, as these modalities have the potential to help patients recover faster.
