Ankit Mehta, MD, is Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at UIC. A board-certified neurosurgeon, he practices at UI Health, specializing in the surgical treatment of complex spinal conditions, including spinal tumors and degenerative spine diseases. His research efforts focus on patients with complex spinal conditions, most notably spinal tumors and spinal deformity. As the Director of Spinal Oncology, he leads a laboratory specifically examining models of spinal tumors, both primary and metastatic, to apply his findings to new treatments for patients.
