Angela Russo, PhD, is Research Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Retzky College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). Her research focuses on investigating the early metabolic and signaling events that promote early tumorigenesis from the fallopian tube epithelium. Fallopian tube epithelium is the main site of origin of high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma, which manifest the first pre-neoplastic lesions indicative of potential ovarian cancer development. Her interest revolves around the role of ovulatory secretions and environmental endocrine disruptors in causing early fallopian tube epithelium changes.
