Dr. Ana Karina Bedran-Russo

Dr. Ana Karina Bedran-Russo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Her research focuses on the mechanical and biochemical properties of teeth and the interface between biomaterials and tooth structure.  Her research team also carries out experimental and clinical studies on the localized biological responses induced by preventive and reparative dental biomaterials. Dr. Bedran-Russo was named a Rising Star in Clinical Sciences and received the 2014 UIC Researcher of the Year award.  As the leader of the Multidisciplinary Oral Sciences Training Program (MOST) she is dedicated to train future clinician-scientists. She is also the president of IADR Dental Materials group and has organized several national and international meetings including the 2016 Academy of Dental Materials meeting here in Chicago.
