Mark Foundation funding opportunities that may be of interest to University of Illinois Cancer Center members.
- Letter of Intent Deadline: 03/10/25
- Application Deadline: 06/17/25
- Purpose: The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research, the American Association for Cancer Research, and the Lustgarten Foundation jointly seek to support projects focused on early cancer detection of pancreatic cancer, hepatobiliary cancers (hepatocellular carcinoma, gallbladder and bile duct cancers, cholangiocarcinoma), ovarian cancer, glioblastoma, upper GI cancers (esophageal, gastric cancer), and cancers resulting from hereditary cancer predisposition syndromes. Awards are $2 million over a two year period (10% indirect cost limit). Proposed research projects should be led by teams of 2-4 investigators, and must be designed to advance the discovery, technical development, and pre-clinical validation of effective approaches and methods for early cancer detection, or the early clinical evaluation of treatment for pre-malignant disease. Ideas that are broadly applicable to early detection across multiple cancer types are encouraged, including the development of novel clinical trial statistical methodologies that aim to assess the validity of early detection biomarkers.
