Bayer Research Award on Innovative Therapeutic Strategies to Treat Lung Cancers Harboring HER2 Mutations and/or Other HER2 Alterations

  • Purpose: LCRF invites proposals for the Bayer Research Award on Innovative Therapeutic Strategies to Treat Lung Cancers Harboring HER2 Mutations and/or other HER2 Alterations. Proposals must be associated with a clinical trial (ongoing or planned), and have a program of basic and/or translational work associated with the clinical trial. The proposal must include studies in patients with lung cancer harboring HER2-mutations and /or other HER2 alterations. Grants are $500,000 over two years (10% indirect cost limit).

Leading Edge Research Grant Program

  • Purpose: The 2025 LCRF Leading Edge Research Grant Program seeks to fund innovative projects across the full spectrum of basic, translational, clinical, epidemiological, health services, early detection, disparities, and social determinants of health research. Grants are $150,000 over two years (no indirect costs). Applicants must be post-doctoral researchers, clinical fellows, or early-career and mid-career investigators with less than ten years’ experience since their initial faculty appointment.

Research Grant on Prevention and Early Detection in Lung Cancer

  • Application Deadline: 06/02/25
  • Purpose: LCRF seeks to fund projects focused on identifying, characterizing, and developing approaches and techniques that will allow early detection and/or prevention of lung cancer and gaining insight into pre-neoplastic processes in the lungs, with the goal of detecting lung cancer at the earliest stages and subsequently increasing survival and survivorship. Grants are $150,000 over two years (no indirect costs); Investigators must be post-doctoral researchers, clinical fellows, or early-career and mid-career investigators with less than ten years’ experience since their initial faculty appointment.

Research Grant on Overcoming Resistance in Lung Cancer

  • Application Deadline: 06/02/25
  • Purpose: The LCRF invites proposals for projects that seek to identify, characterize, treat or prevent resistance to lung cancer therapies. Funded projects will address important mechanistic questions and developmental therapeutics across histological subtypes of lung cancer and the care continuum, with the ultimate goal of improving lung cancer outcomes and increasing survivorship. Investigators must be post-doctoral researchers, clinical fellows, or early-career and mid-career investigators with less than ten years’ experience since their initial faculty appointment. Grant funds total $150,000 over two years (no indirect costs).

Minority Career Development Award

  • Letter of Intent Deadline: 03/03/25
  • Application Deadline: 06/02/25
  • Purpose: The Minority Career Development Award in Lung Cancer provides protected time and mentoring to early-stage investigators from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups (including Black or African American; Hispanic/ Latino; American Indian/Alaskan Native; Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders) working in lung cancer in diverse areas of research including basic, clinical, translational, disparities, and social determinants of health research. Grants provide $150,000 over two years (no indirect costs). Investigators must be post-doctoral researchers, clinical fellows, or early-career and mid-career investigators within 10 years of receiving their MD and/or PhD.
