Gadi joining ACS panel discussing immunotherapy and cancer care

The rise in immunotherapy cancer treatments are a major factor why cancer mortality rates have experienced a 30% drop since 1991, according to the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Facts and Figures reports.

V.K. Gadi, MD, PhD, associate director for Translational Oncology Medicine at the UI Cancer Center, will be a panelist discussing how immunotherapy is revolutionizing cancer care and how it influences a patient’s experience. The Zoom event, sponsored by the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 23 from noon to 1 p.m. Gadi will be joined by other physicians, researchers, patient advocates and a cancer patient to explore ways to make immunotherapy treatments more affordable and accessible to all cancer patients.
