The Respiratory Health Association (RHA) is offering grants for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis ($25,000) and lung cancer ($50,000). The grants are typically awarded to researchers at health care institutions, and often the funding opportunities help an early-career researcher generate data that he/she can then use to apply for National Institutes of Health or other funding.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. (Central Standard Time) Jan.6, 2020. Awards are anticipated to be announced on June 1, 2020. The earliest start date for funded research projects is July 1, 2020.
The Requests for Applications (RFAs) seek innovative studies into the causes, mechanisms, and treatments of a specific lung disease, including pilot and feasibility studies for disease investigation and development and testing of new methodologies and models. Basic, clinical/translational and social/behavioral studies will be considered, with patient-oriented research being particularly valued.
