Voices of Hope: A Community and Research Dialogue
Friday, July 17, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Join Cancer Support Transformation (CST) and the Cancer Center's Hope Leaders program for this FREE, interactive gathering where community members and researchers can come together for conversation and shared learning about cancer research.
Featured speakers will include CST founder Karen Hall, a cancer survivor and patient advocate, and her Hope Leaders partners, Cancer Center member John Nitiss, PhD, and trainee Maureen McCoy, a PharmD/PhD candidate in the Nitiss lab.
Since 2023, Hope Leaders has been connecting community organizations with cancer researchers, with each receiving grants to support their collaborations. Through these two-way partnerships, community voices inform research, and researchers engage directly with the communities their work aims to benefit. This collaboration empowers community organizations to share community health needs directly with Cancer Center researchers; they work together on research and then share their work at community events.
