Fibrosis at the Crossroads of Tissue Homeostasis and Cancer Workshop
June 8 – 9, 2026
Alexandra Naba, PhD, a member of the Cancer Center, is a featured speaker at the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) workshop titled "Fibrosis at the Crossroads of Tissue Homeostasis and Cancer." This event will be held both virtually and in person.
The NCI developed the workshop to explore and discuss the underlying biology of cancer fibrosis (including mechanisms related to immunology, aging, metabolism and extracellular matrix biology) that, in turn, will help define how fibrotic conditions can lead to increased risk of cancer, how fibrosis can promote cancer progression and how targeting fibrosis might be coupled to other approaches such as immunotherapies to enhance treatment responses.
