Wellness House at UI Health, located at Mile Square Health Center, 1220 S. Wood St., will host an open house on Thursday, June 20, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to showcase some of the more than 40 free programs offered monthly to cancer patients. Among the demonstrations will be tai chi, expressive arts and smoothie making. Robert Winn, MD, director of the UI Cancer Center; Susan Hong, MD, director of cancer survivorship at the UI Cancer Center; and Lisa Kolavennu, executive director of Wellness House, will welcome guests with remarks at 5 p.m.
In addition, Hong and Tamara Hamlish, PhD, research scientist at the UI Cancer Center, will be featured speakers at the Hot Topics in Breast Cancer 2019 conference on Saturday, June 22, at Wellness House, 131 N.
