WVON 1690 AM listeners can learn more about various vaccines, from those used in cancer prevention to serums being prepared to fight COVID-19, during the upcoming “Dr. In The House with Dr. Terry Mason” radio show to air on Sunday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Guests include June McKoy, MD, JD, MBA, associate professor of medicine (general internal medicine and geriatrics), medical education and preventive medicine at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, and Gelila Goba, MD, MPH, FACOG, assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and director of the Global Women’s Health Fellowship at UIC.

McKoy, Northwestern University’s representative on the ChicagoCHEC program, conducts extensive research in the areas of cancer survivorship, cancer pharmacoeconomics, comparative effectiveness analyses, HIV and cancer, and adverse drug reactions in older individuals living with cancer. Goba, a member of the UI Cancer Center’s Cancer Prevention and Control program, has performed widespread studies on the prevalence of HPV across Chicago neighborhoods, analyzing risk factors and the geography of structural violence and health disparities.

The program is hosted by Karriem Watson, DHSc, MS, MPH, associate director of community outreach and engagement at the UI Cancer Center, and director of community based research at Mile Square Health Center, and Terry Mason, MD.
