The University of Illinois Cancer Center and Peer Plus presents the 32nd anniversary of National Cancer Survivors Day on Saturday, June 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Thompson Rooms on the second floor of UIC Student Center West, 828 S. Wolcott Ave. Cancer survivors, advocates, healthcare providers and researchers are invited to join a discussion about survivorship, the importance of family support, and the role of the caregiver. Karriem Watson, DHSc, MS, MPH, associate director of community outreach and engagement at the UI Cancer Center, will moderate a panel discussion on clinical trials, advocacy and action at the event. Panelists include Beverly Rodgers, Angela Williams, William Scott and Nyree Bryant, a cancer survivor in active treatment. Lunch will be served, and parking will be provided at the Wood Street Parking Structure (1100 S. Wood St.). Please bring your parking ticket for validation.
