Best of ASCO Africa

University of Illinois Cancer Center member Abiola Ibraheem, MD, the North American Vice President for the African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC), is helping to organize the Best of ASCO Africa Conference, “Global Cancer Divide: Africa’s Access to Innovative Therapies, Technologies and Resources,” this summer in Ethiopia.

The conference, sponsored by AORTIC, will be held June 27-28 in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa and available via live stream.

AORTIC members throughout Africa and in the international cancer community are dedicated to reducing the cancer burden in Africa. Best of ASCO conferences feature abstracts and slides from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting held in late Spring in Chicago.

From Nigeria, Ibraheem is part of Global Oncology initiatives at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), which includes the Cancer Center and UI Health, where she is an oncologist specializing in breast cancer. She also is a Principal Investigator in global breast cancer clinical trials.
