Working With Us

Tell us what you'd like to accomplish, and we will help figure out the rest.

Tell us about your project, who you're trying to reach, what you want them to know or do, and any important deadlines or requirements. We will discuss the options for communications products: flyer, email, webpage, social media post, or others options.

You provide the subject matter expertise.

Help us understand your project, audience, goals, and provide the information we will need to communicate accurately.

Together, we develop the communications approach.

We will ask questions, help you organize the information, identify communication gaps and other needs, and recommend the appropriate channels and deliverables.

We apply communications standards.

Our team is responsible for the communications strategy, editorial structure, branding, accessibility, and the appropriate adaptation of content for each channel.

Brand Standards and Style Guides

Consistent branding and communications help audiences recognize and trust the Cancer Center, and its partners UIC and UI Health.

Cancer Center communications follow Cancer Center and UI Health standards. Guidance is also provided from the UIC Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMC). These standards help ensure our communications are consistent, accessible, and aligned with the university and health system.

Event Communications

Planning an event? Start by sharing your event information with us, including the intended audience and goals.

We'll work with you to develop the content, recommend the appropriate communications channels, and guide the project through production, review, and promotion.

Our Event Communications resources explain what information we need, how the process works, when an event is ready for production, and your role in reviewing and approving event materials.

Additional Marketing and Communications Resources

Our team supports a range of communications needs across the Cancer Center. Additional resources and guidance will continue to be added to this Hub.

Promotional Items and Giveaways

Planning branded promotional items or giveaways? Contact us before selecting products or placing an order so we can help ensure they meet Cancer Center and UI Health brand standards and items are appropriate.

Media Relations and Coverage

Contact Marketing and Communications if you receive media inquiries or interview requests, or if you are seeking media coverage. We help coordinate all such requests in partnership with the SMC team at UIC.

Marketing and Communications Projects

Promoting a program, initiative, resource, or opportunity? Tell us what you're trying to accomplish and who you're trying to reach. We'll help determine the appropriate communications approach.

Projects may include, but are not limited to, campaigns, brochures, one-pagers, reports, presentations, recruitment materials, infographics, photos, video, and other communications deliverables. These projects may involve Cancer Center Marketing and Communications or our partners at UI Health and UIC, or outside vendors.

Web Requests

Contact us if you need new Cancer Center website content, updates to existing pages, corrections, forms, and other web needs. We'll help determine the appropriate content, structure, and next steps.

Digital Communications

Our team manages and supports communications across Cancer Center digital channels, including email, newsletters, social media, and digital signage in the Cancer Clinic. We'll help determine which channels are appropriate for your audience and communications goals.
